Images of Jane

Thank you, Jane, for being in my life for 43 years – for your friendship, your caring advice, your warm hospitality. You were my introduction to English Life:
Jane, the heart of 14 Dora Rd.
“Tea” for a half dozen children prepared by Jane in a tiny kitchen with a ginger cat curled up in the corner of the dining room.

· Ruth in red wellies running across Wimbledon Common with friend – wanting “sweeties.”

· Crispin and Clare getting ready for school on sunny autumn mornings with tales of exciting trips through Europe in the Bedford camper van.

· Peter coming home to happy chaos – Sherry before dinner often with friends, conversations about the news, religion, philosophy, travel.

· Listening to classical music together – Jane always sewing some item of children’s clothing.

· The peace of a suburban London – Wimbledon one of many “villages” within the city.

· Museums, exhibitions, concerts – nothing missed in a busy life.

You introduced me to Wales and the Brecon Beacons:

· Cottage filled with friends – lots of children, including my own

· Exploring woods, hills and coast

· Cooking together for large groups – nothing ever too much trouble.

· Pottery and making.

· Tales of sailing in Dale.

We shared our holiday
cottage in Polruan, Cornwall:

· Peter and Jane on the Hall Walk, the ferries, with sounds of the sea and sunsets.

· Laughter and good food and wine.

We joined you in Weymouth
and were Introduced to Dorset’s magical countryside.

· Peter’s garden and the peace of the stream.

· Enjoying the coast – Portland Bill, Chesil Beach.

· Fabulous meal at Quiddles Cafe.

· Walking around town and bird reserve.

· Learning about Upwey.

There was so much to share
and learn from you. Treasured memories.Thank you, Jane.

May Crispin, Clare and Ruth and the whole of Jane’s family and friends celebrate
her extraordinary gifts and life.
