Jane and I were due to have a catch-up lunch last week so today I had a special chocolate brownie in her honour. I remembered how I often used to sit looking out onto her little river in Weymouth. I valued her generous friendship, no-nonsense straight-talking advice, and copious quantities of soup. What a lady!
