Jane in my life

Created by Penny 8 years ago
I first remember Jane in my life when she had to stop sailing with my dad on the Thames at Putney - she was pregnant with Ruth. My next memory is going to Dora Road to see Ruth, as a tiny baby. Then followed the Taylor's joining us at our cottage in Dale for what became the traditional two weeks every summer before returning to their own cottage.

Jane spent her time endlessly engaged in cooking, sailing, brushing Clare's hair, getting Ruth to eat (generally bacon and bananas), going down to the village early to make sure the van got prime position at the top of the slip, and generally getting us all up and motivated to move. There were endless walks and days spent on the beach, but there was always the topics of conversation and never ending curiosity about anything and everything. Jane's easy laugh, always smiling, always encouraging and always welcoming.

At the end of most summer holidays we would stop at Bwlch on the way home and it nearly always included a walk up the Alt. if Jane was going you wanted to be there too. Her energy was endless and her enthusiasm infectious.

After moving to Australia she was one of the people I always made sure I caught up with when I returned to visit my family. I always looked forward to my dose of Jane, she was more my parents age than mine, but she was my friend and I loved her. She was a special person in my life.

My love to the whole Taylor clan. Xxxx
