Jane called in to see me on the morning of her accident. She brought her own coffee (from Waitrose - she didn't like my instant).
We chatted about life in general, she mentioned she would like to see Petra, but before that she would like to go back to South Africa to see if she could find the places she knew when she was growing up.
We said goodbye on an upbeat note with a kiss and a hug, and I'm so glad of that now. We lived together for over a year, and knew each other's funny ways. One of the sweetest, funniest things I think is that she sometimes used to laugh in her sleep.
If more people lived and died like Jane I think there would be a lot less suffering in the world.
